Turtan P 274 is a buffered syntan primarily intended for use as pre tanning agent for veg- etable tanned leather. It may also be used for mild retannage of chrome tanned leather. Turtan P 274 is readily miscible with water. It penetrates pelts rapidly and uniformly and promote penetration of the subsequent vegetable tanning materials resulting in a clean, level coloured leather of smooth fine grain. Due to its slight tanning action it is also used for the production of wet white preparation,

imparting to the treated skins a particular wet- ting-back property Recommended usage of Turtan P 274 :

Can be used prior to the vegetable tannage or can be mixed in any proportion with the veg- etable extracts. In either case, it has a strong dispersing action upon the extracts solutions

- Percentages normally applied are from 2.0 to 5.0 % - For preparation of wet white is offered from 4.0 to 8.0%
